Pantherheart bounded over to a plump shrew that sat eating a maple leaf, he swiped at it and killed it quickly, throwing it in the growing freshkill pile, when suddenly he heard a desperate cry for help.

Thunder heard the cry too. She bounded to where it came from.

"OK- Who's hurt?" Sparkleheart mewed.

Moonkit struggled, clawing fiercly at the ground, his eyes growing wide with terror. A huge hawk began to lift him up into the air, Pantherheart flung himself at the bird, then gripped Moonkit in his teeth and began to drag both bird and kit down. Soon the bird was dead, its eyes lay upon, then they getnly closed, Pantherheart spat and hissed then calmly licked the shivering kit.

"Oh, no," Sparkleheart mewed, her pretty eyes wide with terror. "It looks like the poor kit has gotten a frayed nerve. Bring him to my den. I will give him some Poppy Seeds and Thyme." Then she ran off, obviously going to mix the herbs together in the right doesage.

"Nice work. I think Dogstar will be very pleased..." Thunder mewed in sort of I-Know-Something-You-Don't kind of way.

"Wh-what?" Pantherheart spun around to face Thunder, "Oh hi, how are you Thunder?" he sheepishly dipped his head, "I'm just glad Moonkit didn't get away, I've sort of been keeping my eye on him..." he stopped, he had wanted the small kit to be his apprintice.

"Dogstar was going to announce his apprentincship next moonhigh," she mewed. That was Thunder, always being able to tell what everyone was thinking. Dogstar and Flamestorm didn't particuarly like that.

Pantherheart beamed, "Perhaps I have a little luck." He nudged the kit in the medicine cat's den, "Well I guess now we see who become the deputy."

Sparkleheart nudged Moonkit to the den when she saw them return to camp. She fed him the herbs, making sure he ate the whole dosage. "Sleep, tomorrow you will be Moonpaw."

Thunder nodded, remembering that no one could be deputy without an apprentince.

((Next Moonhigh, I plan on Pantherheart being deputy, and giving all of the apprentinces mentors right now))

Dogstar padded on top of the Great Boulder. "Cats of SparkClan, gather under the Great Boulder for a clan meeting. He watched as Thunder, Flamestorm, Riverpaw, and Sparklefrost came to the meeting.

Pantherheart's heart soared, perhaps he would have Moonkit as his apprintice. He raced to the highrocks as he heard his lader's voice, his eyes directed towards Dogstar.

"Riverpaw, please step forward. You were are first apprentince, and now that everything is sorted out, I have arranged your mentor. Your mentor will be Birdspark. I can hope she will teach you all she has learned, she has the heart of a good warrior."

"Silverheart, you have been a mighty, loyal warrior. For that I award you with this apprentince, Ghostpaw."

"Silverpaw, you have the makings of a great warrior. Flamestorm will be your mentor, I hope he will pass all his skills to you."

"Sparkleheart, it is time that you got an apprentince. Your apprentince will be Cloverpaw. May you train her in the ways of medidine and to live by the laws of StarClan."

"Spiritsong, I will reward you with your own apprentince too. Thunderpaw will be in good paws."

"And Moonkit. I now rename you Moonpaw. Your mentor will be Pantherheart. I can only hope that you will learn to be as good as a warrior as he is."

"And of course, I call upon my warrior ansestors to look down on this clan, and approve my choice of deputy. The new deputy of SparkClan will be Pantherheart."

"Before anyone leaves, I would like you to welcome Thunder. She is from a tribe and wants to get used to clan life before she gets her own apprentince."

((im back, but for a couple of minutes.))

Spiritsong lifted her muzzle and rested it on Thunderpaw's head. She winked at him and then stoop back. She had a proud gleam in her eyes as she stood back, admiring the fine young cat from a distance, then she went to find Pantherheart, she had tears in he eyes.

Pantherheart was shocked, he looked around at all the cats, Spiritsong nuzzled him affectionatly. He wandered over to Moonpaw and gave his forehead a swift lick. "Thank you." He said towards Dogstar.

Pantherheart decided to take Moonpaw on a small overlooking of the camp and its borders, he would leave with Spiritsong.

Pantherheart stared into her eyes and nodded heisitently. "I will, i'll be here." Pantherheart traveled back to camp, soon it was time to go bakc, his paws carried him to his destination...

Thunder was waiting there, but she looked different. Instead of her warm brown fur she had dark black feathers. When anyone looked at her claws they realized that they weren't claws, but talons. She had dark green eyes. "My name is not Thunder That Sings The Mountain To Sleep, but it is Thunderowl," she mewed.

I finished catching my prey, and padded over to the fresh-kill pile. I dropped everything in there. I was panting hard from trying to catch that eagle.
